Program Presentation

Program Summary:

To ensure that your company is competitive in today’s business climate, HR professionals must build a talent infrastructure that supports todays priorities while also investing in and supporting the development of talent necessary to execute future business strategies. These complexities have created a bottom line where organizations must recruit, engage and retain talent to become a provider of choice; investment of choice; and employer of choice

Please join us as Jeff Lindeman, Senior Director, Talent & Engagement and Angela Shafer-Payne Vice President of Operations of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority (“Airport Authority”) will discuss how they are collaborating to build a sustainable talent strategy.  This includes building, nurturing and sustaining engagement of diverse talent pools to meet the organization’s needs with the right cultural fit & capabilities.

The Airport Authority is the owner and operator of San Diego International Airport (SDIA), the region’s air transportation gateway.  With over 17.5 million passengers in 2013, SDIA is one of the region’s economic engines generating over $9 billion in economic value within the San Diego region.  While almost 8,000 people work at the airport, the Airport Authority employs approximately 400 aviation/airport professionals.  The organization consistently maintains employee retention levels of 92%-97% and employee engagement scores of 80%.  This high performing organization and employer of choice – for the last 11 years – is working hard to sustain its status for years to come as well as to promote regional prosperity and protect the region’s quality of life.
