The world-famous San Diego Zoo has a global reputation for excellenceFounded over 100 years ago, it has pioneered innovative animal habitats in natural settings, and is a global force in animal conservation. In fact, it now boasts the largest zoological membership association in the world, representing more than half a million people. As it continues to ride the winds of change, cope with stress and adversity, adapt in times of chaos, and remain constant in pursuit of its vision to end extinction, the San Diego Zoo has embarked on a Zoo Print for Success - a roadmap to build resilient leaders and a focused, adaptable workforce that ROARS stronger and longer as a result of the Zoo’s innovative strategies – and all on a shoestring budget.   • Learn from the wisdom of the “World Famous” San Diego Zoo - a one hundred year old organization, how to thrive in these complex and often disruptive times

:

Tim Mulligan serves San Diego Zoo Global as the Chief Human Resources Officer.  In his role, Mulligan manages a staff of over 18 employees who fulfill employment needs for the organization, develop benefits packages for its nearly 3,000 employees and handle organizational and strategic challenges that occur in a large, diverse workplace.  Mulligan received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration from Washington State University in 1990 before receiving his Juris Doctorate from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1994.  He has extensive experience in human resources legal issues having practiced labor and employment law from 1995 – 1998.  Mulligan served as a Director of Human Resources for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, in Seattle and then San Diego, from 1998 - 2001.  In 2001 he took on the responsibility of Area Director of Human Resources for Starwood Hotels and Resorts in San Diego, overseeing 5 hotels and over 3,000 employees.  Mulligan joined San Diego Zoo Global in 2004.

's new book, co-authored with Sandy Asch, is titled:  "ROAR: How To Build a Resilient Organization the World Famous San Diego Zoo Way", will be released on May 14th, 2016, in conjunction with the San Diego Zoo’s Centennial celebration.
