Practical Tips for Complying with California’s New
    Workplace Violence Prevention Law

Does your organization have a comprehensive workplace violence prevention plan? If so, does it meet the mandates required by California’s new law, SB553? If not, how do you get started?

This session will be presented by a senior employment attorney and a psychologist with over 20 years of experience in the workplace violence prevention field. The program will cover the basic requirements for compliance with SB553, a new law which requires virtually all California employers to have a workplace violence prevention program. Additionally, components of a “best practices” approach for a comprehensive workplace violence prevention program will be discussed.

    Learning Objectives:

    • Overview of the essential components for compliance with SB553
    • Understand employer responsibilities
    • Review “best practices” for program implementation and training
